Brent Rosenthal, firm head and co-founder, is an AV® rated appellate lawyer recognized by the trial bar nationwide for his role in shaping the common law governing asbestos and toxic tort litigation in Texas and other states. A member of the American Law Institute and certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Appellate Law, Brent has briefed and argued numerous appeals resulting in published opinions that are now routinely taught to students learning the fundamentals of product liability and toxic tort law. In addition, on a more practical level, Brent and his partners—Janice Pennington, Laurie Meggesin and Misty Farris—have earned a reputation for successfully defending often high-profile trial verdicts in state and federal jurisdictions throughout the country. The four of us practiced together under Brent’s leadership in the Appellate Section of a prominent Dallas-based plaintiffs’ firm and have now reunited to establish the firm of Rosenthal Pennington LLP.

In tandem with our appellate work, we have successfully supported trial teams from investigation and motion practice to trial and beyond—working both offensively and defensively on motions for summary judgment, Daubert motions, motions in limine, jury instructions and charge issues, and post-trial motion practice.
